Johnnie Walker | Keep walking colombia
A symbol of unity.
After decades of civil war, in 2016 great steps were made towards peace in Colombia with the signature of a unilateral ceasefire and peace treaty. With its Keep Walking spirit, Johnnie Walker has always been a firm believer in human progress, and wanted to celebrate the brave men and women who contributed to this progress in Colombia.
To do this, we partnered with the Bogotá Museum of Modern Art (MAMBO), Semana and renowned artist Spencer Tunick, to create an art installation that invited Colombians from all sides of the civil conflict to stand together in unity in Bogota’s main public square. We created a documentary film to tell the stories of these people, their experiences of the conflict and their inspiring hopes for a better future for Colombia.
Over 6,000 Colombians took part in the nude art installation in Bogota, in a show of solidarity and unity. The story resonated globally and was picked up organically by more than 500 news outlets. Online, we gave 20.1 million people in 16 markets a front row seat to this show of unity at the most relevant moment: the signature of the peace treaty. With the world watching, we showed Colombia’s inspirational shared belief in a better tomorrow and inspired others with the power of human progress.
TLDR; We got 6,000 Colombians to get naked in an act of unity, to tell the world their inspiring stories and ambitions for a better tomorrow.
