PREGNANCY COOKBOOK

recipes that appeal or appal
depending on your trimester

Ever since my sister got pregnant for the first time I have been intrigued with how a pregnancy can alter the tastebuds of a woman. Four healthy nephews later it had gotten so that the first thing I would ask my expecting friends and family was, “What’s the weirdest thing you crave?”. The answers were every now and then so disturbingly awesome, that I felt the need to immortalise them properly.

Together with the talented René Mesman and Claartje Lindhout we translated the recipes found through friends, family, and the internet into iconic images. The book is created with the struggle of pregnancy cravings in mind. Its intention is to pay homage to the crazy pregnancy cravings, and find the quickest way to satisfaction. It’s not some food snob’s cookbook with detailed recipes down to the milligram but more the broad strokes to unconventional cravings. See this book as an exploration of culinary wonder and (let’s be honest) disgust, with some tips and tricks to get your hands on these tasty snacks ASAP.

TLDR; I turned my fascination for pregnancy cravings
into a light hearted, photography based cookbook.

The book is distributed globally, serving moms to be around the world. You can find it at Strand Bookstore, McNally Jackson, Target, Amazon, Bol.com or local bookshops like The American Book Center, Paagman or stores like Waterstones
in London.

So far responses have been overwhelming from both food, design and parent publishers but also mainstream news outlets like radio NPO1, RTL News and AD or smaller ones like Het Parool.
